The current council majority has neglected the issue of increased traffic congestion and sadly, even traffic safety. This is the direct result of the Council’s failure to regulate runaway development.  I will work to “hit the pause button” on big development until we can accurately assess its impact on our community. After all, it makes no sense to approve a giant project like Talaria without taking into account the additional traffic it brings. Burbank needs to strike a balance between commercial and residential interests, and each phase of development should be followed by a period of recovery and adjustment. We need council members who have the courage to say no to projects that are inconsistent with the preservation of our neighborhoods.
